Dr. Cornel West
{theatre}+{náfsi}* is an Black Repertory Theater, meaning it produces and presents artistic performances that illuminate the human condition through the prism of the people of the African Diaspora (i.e. African -American, African, Afro-Latino, Afro-Caribbean, etc.).
*Náfsi means "soul" in the language of Swahili.

THEATER with COMMUNITY (TwC) utilizes community-based interactive drama as a way to facilitate positive change. Drawing from the techniques of Augusto Boal and Theater of the Oppressed, TwC seeks to bring communities together, working through challenging topics, and giving voice to the often "silenced and unheard".
Techniques include Forum Theater, Image Theater, Rainbow of Desire, and extend to other community based art frameworks.
